Our aim is to make more information available to all of our guests should they wish to travel in a more environmentally conscious way. We of course have hit some personal milestones on our way…

Serena's Statement

"I believe that sustainability and the road to reducing our carbon footprint is one of the most important journeys our hotel will undertake. Our business is built on historic houses in beautiful places and without working to protect our future environment we risk losing the things we value so greatly."

Current Achievements

We have been awarded grant funding by the Lake District Foundation. This has enabled us to install 26 solar panels, an energy storage battery and a fast EV charging station.  

We have recently embarked on a project with My Green Butler to work with both team & guests to reduce energy waste.

LED lights have been installed throughout the hotel, with motion sensors on all back of house lighting.

We try not to buy new furniture wherever possible, instead repairing beautiful vintage furniture.
